Hosted by ‘Taking on a World of Words’, every Wednesday is ‘WWW Wednesday’:
What are you currently reading?
The Missing Barbegazi by H. A. Norup (cover design by Anna Morrison)
I started this on the day the story itself starts, though I didn’t quite have the same snowy mountain setting as the book! But it is a great read for winter and one I’m really enjoying!
What have you just finished reading?
Snowglobe by Amy Wilson (cover illustration by Rachel Vale)
I finished reading this on Christmas Day (I think this is the first Christmas Day I’ve managed to read since I was little! It was lovely, even if I did have to read stood up!)
Imaginative, magical and exciting – I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m still marvelling at the Snowglobes and the setting – at the worlds within a world within a world. Such a unique idea and brilliantly described – so tangible and memorable. It made me want to go in and explore them!
What are you planning on reading next?
As ever – I don’t know! I posted here about my reading goals for this year, so part of me wants to get off to a flying start on that with a classic or some non fiction. But I have both Angie Thomas and Jess Butterworth’s new ones calling too. Not to mention the huge TBR pile…
What do you think – what should I choose? Have you read any of the books here? What are you reading at the moment?
I really liked the Missing Barbegazi and Snowglobe, and I definitely vote for reading Swimming Against the Storm. I absolutely LOVE Jess Butterworth’s books and I’m so excited for it!

Can’t wait to hear what you think! It’s one of my most anticipated reads of this year! (Still feels SO weird to call 2019 this year and not next year- the amount of times I’ve had to delete and edit myself!!)

I know! I’ll be writing/saying ’18 for ages yet! And likewise – look forward to hearing what you think too. Have you got a copy yet?x

I haven’t, but I’m eagerly awaiting getting my hands on one come April! I did just read an excellent MG proof though- the Secret Starling, and I definitely think you’d enjoy it! Espcecially if I am remembering correctly and you love Emma Carroll? X

Ooh, not heard of that one! Yes, there’s still some Emma Carroll’s I’ve not read but I’ve really enjoyed all the ones I have so I’ll keep an eye out for this! Hope your copy of Swimming… comes soon!x

Earlier ones – Frost Hollow Hall, I’m Darkling Wood & The Girl Who Walked on Air. I only discovered her with Letters from the Lighthouse and kept meaning to go back and read the others, but another victim of too many boos too little time! Sky Chasers is my favourite of hers.x

The Girl Who Walked on Air is my favourite of them, and one of my favourite MGs of all time. The other two are exceptional as well! X

I will get to them one day! I’ll make Girl Who Walked on Air the first when I do!x

The covers of your books are so gorgeous!! I wish we had a little more snow here so the winter landscape is calling to me. I always like to start the new year off with a nonfiction book because I am so motivated at the beginning of the year and that helps me keep up my nonfiction for the rest of the year. I’m a sucker for a pretty cover! That’s a good idea about starting with on fiction while you’re motivated – think I’d be the opposite and still be reading it come December though 😆

If I had Angie Thomas’s new one I would definitely be reading that next. Although Jess Butterworth would be a strong contender.

I went the other way round as I was really looking forward to both, but knew I’d finish Jess’ quicker so made sense to read that one first, but On The Come Up is definitely next!
