WWW Wednesday 10/3/21

WWW Wednesday is hosted by ‘Taking on a World of Words’ every Wednesday and asks:

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What will you read next?

So, first up, my current reads:

Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, audiobook read by Jorjeana Marie, Will Damron, Cassandra Morris and Michael Crouch

I’m still not loving the narration but still glad to be listening again to this as I just think it’s such a fantastic book.

The Swallows’ Flight by Hilary McKay

I am LOVING this so much. I had such high hopes after Skykarks’ War which I utterly adore and this is more than living up to them.

Strangeworlds Travel Agency: The Edge of the Ocean by L. D. Lapinski

It’s taking me a while to remember and get my head around everything from book one again and settle in at Strangeworlds again but I’m only a couple of chapters in and I remember feeling like this with book one too, and as soon as I felt a bit more orientated I devoured it so I’m sure this one will be the same.

What have you just finished reading?

The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex

I did like reading about the sea and the lighthouses, but unfortunately this just didn’t deliver for me. It wasn’t quite what I was expecting and then went off in an even more unexpected direction, neither of which were what I’d hoped for and neither of which really drew me in.

Swan Song by Gill Lewis

I’d heard so many people talking about this that I had to order it and I wasn’t disappointed. Review to follow.

What’s next?

I said this last week then went off piste, but I’ll aim again for either The Weather Weaver by Tamsin Mori and Bigfoot Mountain by Roderick O’Grady.

Have you read any of these?

What are you reading at the moment?

  1. So pleased you enjoyed Swan Song!! Planning to pick up the Edge of the Ocean at some point, and I’m absolutely dying to read Swallows’ Flight as you know. Last book I finished was Trouble in New York, I’m now reading the Summer of Us (which I’m very nearly finished) and then I’m reading the sequel to the Switch Up after that 😊

    1. I’m not sure either Summer or Switch would be my cup of tea 😂 But I hope you’re enjoying/enjoy them and they’re providing suitably comforting reads at the moment.x

  2. I have The Swallows’ Flight and Strangeworlds on my TBR. Glad you’re enjoying them – think I will too! I really enjoyed The Weather Weaver, and have been sent a proof of BigFoot Mountain so hoping to get to it soon.
